Intentionality
So much of this work is about intentionality. In the abbey, we bow to the Buddha and shrines not only to show reverence, but also to re-focus on the intention of having an empty mind. When we bless ourselves with the sign of the cross in the Catholic church, it opens our heart to God and brings focus to our intention of being godly while entering the sacred.
Setting an intention before entering an altered state of consciousness is our chance to bring what is most important to us to the forefront of our minds. Just as there are no limits to our prayers, our intention for communing with our higher self can be limitless. We can seek physical healing for something like a tight shoulder, or mental healing by praying for serenity, emotional healing where we shower our inner child with love, or spiritual healing of mending our ancestral traumas. This is our chance to commune with our higher self, and leave that which no longer serves us at the feet of God. Reach out if you would like guidance in finding your intention.
About
Ronin is a medicine guide and musician that offers a heart-centered and grounded approach to healing. As a Peruvian American man, he has studied plant medicine throughout Central and South America since 2019. His primary training has been deeply rooted in the Shipibo tradition. He has completed Oregon State’s Psilocybin Facilitator Training at the Leela School of Awakening, the Ayahuasca Foundation Initiation Course, Hakomi Informed Somatic Coaching Program, and the Zendo Project’s Sitting and Integration Training Program. Additionally, Ronin’s healing journey has led him to study deeper realms of consciousness including breath work with Wim Holf, Vipassana meditation, Reiki energy healing, and dieting with master plants in South America with his teachers.
Ronin Rao roughly translates to Serpent Medicine in the Shipibo-Konibo language, which is spoken throughout the Ucayali Region of Peru. My offerings are heavily influenced by the teachers I’ve studied with in my journeys throughout Peru.
